Executive Summary
The Self Insured Risk Management Authority I (SIRMA I) is an insurance pool serving school districts and transit authorities located in the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys of Los Angeles County.

The Joint Powers Authority insurance programs use a combination of District self insurance, insurance through PRISM, traditional insurance carriers and pooled self-insurance to provide financial coverage for the JPA members.

The members of SIRMA I operate Preschools, K – 12 public and charter schools, transit authorities and have a variety of other public service roles in their respective communities including facilities; such as community education centers for adults and continuing education, public health centers, and community auditoriums and swimming pools. Administrative facilities include District office buildings and maintenance, operations, and motor vehicle maintenance and operations facilities supporting the schools and transportation activities. All operations are located in the greater Los Angeles County, most in incorporated cities of the county, and some elements of administration are overseen by Los Angeles County Office of Education such as financial operations and special education coursework which provide support to special education functions.
